Strip Lashes
Natural Lashes: You can see from comparing these lashes with others that they are much more delicate looking. These are lashes that are going to give you a boost in length and thickness but aren’t going to go overboard! These are mostly worn for daytime outings a natural look is wanted or lashes that are long and light.
Full Lashes: These lashes are obviously much thicker than the natural lashes. While these lashes may look too heavy for everyday wear, they are great for photos (especially if the photos are going to be taken from a bit further away). It is kind of the same principle as theatre makeup—the further away people are from you, the bolder the stage makeup must be to look right. These lashes also have a blunter and even shape to the tips of the lashes.
Long & Short Lashes: This category of lashes has a bold pattern of longer and shorter lashes. Some may contain criss-crossed lashes, some may be straight, but the pronounced difference in tip length is their biggest feature. These lashes are used when a thicker, more dramatic look is desired.
Individual Lashes: Instead of getting all your lashes together in a strip, these come in different lengths and are attached individually until the lash-line is full. These lashes do take longer to put on, but they look more natural where your eyelid meets your lash-line and you can put on as many or as few as you want and customise your length and look. You still get all the benefits of individual lashes, but it takes a lot less time to apply them.
How long do they last? Traditional strip lashes are faster to put on than individual lashes but will usually only last you throughout the day, depending on how much glue you used they should last through the end of the night. Individual lashes although they take longer to put on are designed to last much longer than just one day. You can get days, even weeks out of your individual lashes.
Can I reuse my lashes? Yes! If you do not use mascara when you wear your lashes, you can reuse them several times. Just use tweezers to pull the dried lash glue from the lashes after you remove them and store them in their original case until you want to use them again.
Application of strip lashes
- Apply one thin coat of mascara
- Choose your desired lash and measure against your eye – cut to the size required so they fit the eye
- Apply a thin strip of lash glue to the strip of the lash, not too much, but just enough.
- Wait 30 seconds for the glue to dry and become sticky
- Using your MODELROCK Lashes applicator or a pair of tweezers, apply the lash to the lashes (not the skin) and press down from one corner to the other
- Use the applicators to press the lashes together with your natural lash so they are secure and comfortable
Application of Individual lashes
- Ensure your eye makeup look is complete
- Place a dot of glue on the back of your hand (or mixing metal plate) ready for the base of lash to be slightly dipped into.
TIP – Less is more with lash glue, you don’t want to overload your lashes with glue, plus it dries faster. - With your MODELROCK individual lash palette, very gently tug on the length of the lash hairs, releasing from packaging and exposing the base line. (you can use your fingers or tweezers)
- Dip exposed base line of lashes into glue, only a small amount to not flood base line.
- With eyes closed (not squinting) place individual lash right in the join of natural lash to skin. No base should touch the skin of eyelid, only in the join lashes to skin. Always place flat, they can easily twist.
- I start on the outer eye and work in, no closer than the width of each individual lash for a perfect balance.
- Make sure you open eyes after a minute; to see any gaps in the lash look – add more to fan lashes.
- If when eye is open you want a fuller look, add one more row of individuals in the gap of each base (the part in between the width of each lash), this should overlap first row perfectly for a fuller, double row effect.

Things you will need to consider when selecting a strip lash adhesive:
- Formula – always check the ingredients and the usage directions especially if you have any known allergies.
- Patch testing or skin sensitivity test – apply a small amount of product in an inconspicuous position such as behind the ear or the inside of the elbow
- Brush on or squeeze bottle – options for your personal preference
- Tone/finish – adhesives are available in either black or clear
- Patch Test – important if you have never used lash adhesive.
